My Book!

On Tuesday evening I submitted my book to the publisher, Blurb.com!!!  It should arrive in about 10 days.  So, the next time you see me, ask to take a look at my book.  I'm sure that I'll be carrying it around for a while...

If you've ever considered publishing your work it's easier than ever with Print-on-Demand software.  Check out Blurb.com and get started.

Here's a sneak peek at the cover.

Tip: Getting Children to look

I am often asked how I get kids to look into the lens during a portrait shoot.  Try this (remember to shoot after each statemtent as each will elicit an often priceless expression!):  Tell the sitter that there is an animal that lives in your camera!  If they look real close they will see it!  There it went!  Did you see it?  It's a butterfly!  See if you can find it again!

I used it to get this reaction:

Jello

Mark

Over the past year I have been working on my portrait portfolio. I'll be posting a few to my blog so that you can get an idea of my style. I'm grateful for your feedback!

New and Improved

Hi. Thanks for checking out my photo blog. I started this blog last year for my Street Photography class at NOVA. I am now very close to finishing my AAS degree in photography so I have decided to re-visit the blog and begin to keep it up-to-date as a way of keeping viewers current on my latest work and adventures. Please check back often to see samples of my latest work, insights about my photography experiences, and photography tips that I pick up along the way. I hope that you find my blog interesting and visually stimulating. Be sure to sign up to follow my latest posts. You can also click to follow me on Twitter (DSPhotog)....but I'm just learning to tweet so don't get your expectations too high on that one! You can also see tons of my work on Flickr at (stevensond227)

Thanks for your interest and for your on-going support! Stay tuned for more.
